                                 Boardtrack Hero's

A sport lasting only a few short years. The mortality rate was so high the public could not accept the casualities of the brutally fast paced wall of excitement. By 1920 they were pretty much a bloody memory. Helmets, gauntlet gloves and goggles were the tools of the trade.

The tracks were made from 2x4s on edge banked very steep to try and keep the Paul Derkums, Eddie Hashas and Shrimp Burns' from leaving the track at speeds over 100 miles an hour..... oh by the way   no brakes.
